Women's Council of Realtors SCV Shining Knights 2008 Calendar The following specifications are designed to help us showcase your company in the best manner possible, as well as produce the highest-quality publication. Should you have any questions, please send us an email and be as specific as you can. Advertising may be submitted electronically (preferred) or as a hard copy (i.e. a business card). Acceptable Electronic Formats PDF This is the preferred format for all ads submitted electronically. It should be noted, however, that not all PDF files are created equal. The quality of PDF files can vary greatly. Generally speaking, to ensure the highest quality reproduction, make sure that any photos or graphics that are used in your file are at least 300 dpi. Anything less will produce poor-quality (i.e. blurry or pixelated) output. Page-Layout Programs We accept files produced with current versions of either QuarkXPress or Adobe InDesign. Please make sure that the ad is sized using the proper ad dimensions (at right) and that all related images and fonts are included with your file. These files should be collected in one folder and archived as .zip or .sit files. Vector Art Programs We accept files created with current versions of Adobe Illustrator and Macromedia Freehand 9. Files should be saved as an "Illustrator EPS" or as an "editable EPS" in Freehand. All final vector EPS files that are used should be supplied. Photo Imaging Programs We accept files created with Adobe Photoshop CS. Four-color images should be saved in CMYK mode and as composite TIFFs. Black-and-white images should be saved in grayscale mode and as composite TIFFs. All images should be supplied with a resolution of 300 dpi. Black-and-white line art should be submitted as a bitmap TIFF at 1200 dpi. Unacceptable Formats We cannot accept files created with Microsoft Publisher. Acceptable Hard-Copy Formats Business Cards When submitting a business card, please do not staple it, write on it or alter it in any way. Printouts Printouts from consumer-grade ink-jet or laser desktop printers are not recommended, but are acceptable as long as the client understands that reproduction quality will likely be degraded by one generation. For the best possible quality, ink-jet printouts should be at 600 dpi or higher and on glossy photo paper. For lasers, a 600-dpi print is recommended. Unacceptable Formats We cannot accept tear sheets from newspapers or publications that use newsprint, i.e. phone book yellow pages. How to Get Your Files to Us Completed ad files of 9 MB or less can be submitted via email attachment to scvp@mac.com.
